How To Install a Small Solar Pumping System
In this article, we’re going to show you the principle of a solar pumping system and the specific products you may need to install this system.
A solar pumping system is a system that converts solar energy into electricity and drives a pump for water supply.
System Features
- The photovoltaic power generation system operates fully without manual duty. It is composed of solar panels, a solar pump inverter and water pump.
It can eliminate the need for energy storage devices such as batteries, without water storage, and directly driving the pump to pump water. High reliability and greatly reduced system construction and maintenance costs.
2. Using solar pump controllers, the pumping speed is adjusted according to the change of daily intensity, So that the output power is close to the maximum powers of the solar arrays; when the sunshine is very prominent, the pumping speed is guaranteed not to exceed the rated speed; when the sunshine is insufficient, according to the lowest set operating frequency, Otherwise the pumped will automatically stop running.
3. The pump is driven by a single-phase DC motor, pumping water from a deep well, injecting it into a reservoir/pool, or directly into the irrigation system. Different types of pumps can be used to work according to actual system requirements and installation conditions.
4. It can provide economical and more effective solutions according to different regions and customers’ needs.
System Construction
The solar photovoltaic pump system is mainly composed of three parts: solar cell module, PV pump inverter, and single-phase DC pump.
The solar cell array is composed of a plurality of solar cell modules connected in series and in parallel, which absorbs sunshine radiations and convert them into electrical energy to provide power for the whole system.
Solar pump inverter/controller controls and regulates the operation of the system, converts the DC power generated by the solar cell, drives the water pump, and adjusts the output frequency in real-time according to the change of the sunshine intensity to achieve maximum power point tracking and maximizes the use of solar energy.
The pump is driven by a single-phase DC motor, pumping water from a deep well, injecting it into a reservoir/pool or directly into the irrigation system.
According to the actual system requirements and installation conditions, different types of pumps can be used for this operation. The powering of the systems ranges from 0.75KW to higher, the water lifting stroke can be 10 meters or higher, and the daily water lift capacity can be more than 5 tons.
